Forgotten Hanwha 1st prospect, 1 year in real life… 3 innings, 2 runs, maximum 147km

Shin Ji-hoo (22), Hanwha’s first designated pitcher, made his first appearance in a year.

Shin Ji-hoo started the 2023 KBO Futures League away game against NC held at Masan Stadium in Changwon on the 29th, recording 3 innings, 4 hits, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts and 2 runs.

The first episode was uneasy. He gave up a walk after a full-count match with Choi Seung-min, and then hit consecutive hits to Park Joo-chan and Kwon Hee-dong, giving up the first run. He struck out Woo-jae Choi on a swing, but was hit by Bo-seong Choi, and the bases were loaded with one out. Jeong Jin-gi’s second base grounder gave up an additional run, but he overcame the crisis by handling Han Jae-hwan’s floating ball in right field at the 2nd 2nd and 3rd base.

In the 2nd and 3rd episodes, he showed a sense of stability with consecutive triplets. In the second inning, Cho Hyun-jin threw a fly ball to left field, Choi Seung-min struck out on a three-ball swing, and Park Joo-chan induced a ground ball to third base. In the 3rd inning, Kwon Hee-dong got a fly ball to right field, Woo-jae Choi got a ground ball to second base, and Bo-sung Choi got a fly ball to right field and finished with 8 balls. 메이저놀이터

Shin Ji-hoo, who passed the mound to left-hander Song Yun-joon in the 4th inning, finished the mound with a total of 54 pitches. 34 strikes, 20 balls. He used forkballs (13) and curves (3) centered on fastballs (38) with a maximum of 147km and an average of 143km.

It was Shin Ji-hoo’s first actual appearance in almost a year. Last year, there was no record of appearances in the 2nd Army Futures League. He appeared only in the remaining army practice games until May, and after that, he did not play in real life as he went through an injury and adjustment period.

When his speed dropped significantly, the Futures coaching staff went through the process of rebuilding from scratch, from training to pitching form. It took time, but on the first day of the Futures League of the season, he threw up to 147 km and showed good pitching.

Shin Ji-hoo, who graduated from Bukil High School, is a right-handed pitcher with a height of 198cm and 112kg. He joined Hanwha after receiving the first nomination in 2020, but in the first team, 2 games (⅓ innings) in 2021 are all. He is growing slower than expected, but he is still only 22 years old, so Hanwha continues to work hard.
