An SBS report revealed that Costco belatedly reported스포츠토토 the death of an employee to the Ministry of Labor in relation to an accident in which an employee who was managing a cart at Costco’s Hanam branch fell to his death last June.
The Occupational Safety and Health Act requires employers to report to the Ministry of Labor ‘without delay’ when a serious accident occurs, but Costco reported it to the Ministry of Labor one day after the employee’s death.
In response, the Central Regional Employment and Labor Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor imposed a fine of 30 million won on Costco Korea for violating the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Additionally, a fine of up to 5 million won was imposed for failing to provide safety and health training to employees when they changed their jobs.
Separately from this disposition, the Ministry of Employment and Labor is also conducting an investigation into whether Costco violated the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
