‘Thank you Dodgers’ Both Seattle and Texas lost… RYU’s fall baseball challenge, the energy of the universe helps ‘TOR Waka returns to 3rd place’

Ryu Hyun-jin’s former team, the LA Dodgers, defeated the Seattle Mariners in a close overtime game. Ryu Hyun-jin’s team, the Toronto Blue Jays, revived its hopes for fall baseball as its ranking rivals, Seattle and Texas Rangers, fell into consecutive losses.

The LA Dodgers won 6-2 in overtime in the second game of the 2023 Major League Baseball Seattle Mariners three-game away game held at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington, USA on the 17th (Korean time).

The Dodgers, ranked first in the National League West Division, recorded a season record of 90 wins and 57 losses, confirming their division championship for the second consecutive year. On the other hand, Seattle, which suffered two consecutive losses, ended up with 81 wins and 67 losses. They suffered consecutive losses during a busy period and were relegated to 4th place in the American League Wild Card.

A tense pitching battle unfolded between the Dodgers and the Seattle Mound. For the Dodgers, after starter Clayton Kershaw left 4 scoreless innings, rookie Emmet Sheehan showed off a perfect pitch in 3 innings, allowing 1 hit and 5 strikeouts, while Seattle’s bullpen also showed a salty performance after rookie Bryce Miller, who started as a starter, went 5⅓ scoreless innings.

The game was still tied 0-0 in the top of the 10th overtime. Chris Taylor, who appeared at second base with no outs, made first and third base with no outs with an exquisite infield hit. Jason Hayward retired with a fly ball to right field, but with the bases loaded with one out following James Outman’s bases loaded, pinch hitter Colton Wong finally broke the balance of 0 with a sacrifice fly to right field.

In the bottom of the 10th inning, with no outs스포츠토토on second base, the Dodgers grounded Jared Kelenic to first base and fielded Josh Rojas to third base. With no outs on second base and two outs on second base, victory was on the horizon. However, he allowed one RBI hit against Mike Ford, and the score was tied 1-1 again.

The Dodgers were in danger of having the bases loaded with two outs due to JP Crawford’s double and Julio Rodriguez’s intentional fourth pitch, but they caught Teoscar Hernández with a grounder to second base and took the game to the 11th inning.

The Dodgers’ batting lineup showed strength again. With no outs in the 11th inning, second baseman Freddie Freeman struck out, but Max Muncy took the lead with an RBI single following Will Smith’s 4th pitch. Afterwards, with the bases loaded due to Amed Rosario’s walk, Chris Taylor and Kique Hernández hit two RBIs and timely hits to seal the game.

On this day, the Dodgers defeated Seattle and the Texans lost to the Cleveland Guardians, reigniting the race for the American League wild card rankings. While Texas maintained a close second place, Ryu Hyun-jin’s Toronto pushed out Seattle and rose to third place, the Maginot line for fall baseball.

Toronto had a cloud over its postseason challenge when it suffered a four-game sweep by Texas in midweek, but it recently changed its mood with two consecutive wins, and was able to have hope again as rival teams were lucky enough to fall into two-game losing streak.

Toronto will attempt its third consecutive win with Ryu Hyun-jin leading the way in the game against the Boston Red Sox on the 18th.
