Rookie of the Year’ Avarientos “I ran hard towards the PO… I will do my best until the end”

Ulsan Hyundai Mobis guard Ronjay Avarientos, who became the rookie of the year this season, expressed his determination to face the playoffs (PO).

Avarientos said at the 2022-23 SKT Adot Professional Basketball PO Media Day held at Olympic Parktel in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 31st, “I have been running hard toward PO. I want to do my best until the end.”

Avarientos, who entered the KBL through the Asian quota system introduced in the league for the first time this season, averaged 13.6 points, 4.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds, leading Hyundai Mobis to fourth place.

He also became the first foreign player in league history to receive the Rookie of the Year award. Joy is short-lived, Avarientos is preparing for the PO (3 out of 5 matches) in the round of 6 against Goyang Carrot, which will be held from the 2nd of next month.

In the regular league, Hyundai Mobis is higher than Carrot (5th), but the fact that it was weak against Carrot this season with 1 win and 5 losses is a factor of concern.

Avarientos said, “Carrot’s guard, Lee Jung-hyun, was the hardest to block.”

He continued, “In our team, Shin Min-seok and Choi Jin-soo are important. Players who can use the court widely,” expressing anticipation.

On the other hand, on this day’s Media Day, some players’ volubility drew attention.

Seoul SK’s Kim Seon-hyung, who received the MVP award the previous day (30th), parodied lines from the popular drama ‘The Glory’ and said, “I’m so excited right now, guys.”

Kim Seon-hyeong said,온라인바카라 “Since our team won 9 consecutive victories at the end of the regular league with Shinbaram Basketball, we will try to have fun with coach Jeon Hee-chul in the PO.”

Anyang KGC’s Byun Jun-hyung, who had a fierce MVP competition with Kim Sun-hyung, threw a parody of a line from the animation ‘Slam Dunk’, saying, “Do you like winning? I really like it. I’m a genius.”

2nd place Changwon LG ace Lee Gwan-hee left the word “Don’t worry, Marey” for fellow teammate Asem Marey, who left due to injury during the final game of the regular season.

Lee Kwan-hee explained, “I want to let people know that my teammates are praying for Marey’s recovery.”
