Park Seo-ryeong (19) won her first victory in the second competition of the Korea Women’s Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Jump Tour (third division).
On the Sabi (OUT) Hanseong (IN) course (par 72, 6258 yards) at Baekje Country Club in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, the 2023 KLPGA Baekje CC-Samdaein Red Ginseng Ball Jump Tour 2nd leg was held on the 17th and 18th with a total prize of 30 million won.
Park Seo-ryeong finished the regular round tied for first place with Park Min-sun (21) with a total of 5 under par 139 strokes (68-71), then succeeded in making a 2m birdie putt at the first hole of the overtime round and won 4.5 million won in prize money.
Park Seo-ryeong, who joined the KLPGA in March this year through an associate member selection match, finished the first leg of the Baekje CC-Samdaein Red Ginseng Ball Jump Tour in a tie for 6th on the 12th, driving the momentum to successfully enter the TOP 10 and immediately taking the top spot in the next tournament.
Park Seo-ryeong said, “I thought that I could win the championship someday if I consistently ranked in the top 5 because I liked the shot, but I did it faster than I thought. I recently corrected my iron shot swing a bit, and starting to feel comfortable with it helped a lot.”
Park Seo-ryeong, who entered the final round with a tie for 5th place, one stroke away from the leader, made an uneasy start by making bogeys in a row on holes 2 and 3. After reducing one stroke with a birdie on the 3rd hole, he made up for all the strokes he lost by catching a birdie on the last 9th hole in the first half.
The par march continued from the 10th to the 17th hole, and then a birdie on the 18th hole led the game to an extension, which led to the victory. Park Seo-ryeong said, “I don’t know if it’s true that I won the championship. I feel really good and happy. I would like to thank professional Ellen Wilson and teacher Lee Hoon who have been with me since middle school, and I sincerely thank my family who always support me.”메이저놀이터
