American Professional Basketball (NBA) Orlando Magic Paolo Bankero (21) was selected as the 2022-2023 NBA Rookie of the Year.
After finishing his freshman year at Duke University and jumping into the 2022 NBA Draft, Bankero wore an Orlando uniform with the 1st overall pick. Even at the time of the draft, the evaluation that Orlando’s selection was unexpected was dominant. This is because Bankero has excellent attack power, but has obvious weaknesses. In his college years, he was rated worse than Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City) and Jabari Smith Jr. (Houston).

He received an overall score of 494 from the 100 NBA Rookie of the Year voters. The gap with second place Jaylen Williams (241 points, Oklahoma City) is significant. There were 98 first place votes. With 98% of the first place vote, they unfortunately missed out on the unanimous Rookie Award.
