New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is out of the starting lineup due to an injury.
Judge was replaced in the 4th inning of the offense and defense in an away game against the Texas Rangers on the 28th (Korean time). It was the aftermath of right hip pain while sliding to third base in a game on the 27th.
Judge was eventually removed from the starting lineup against Texas on the 29th and underwent an MRI scan. According to Major League Baseball’s official website, Yankees manager Aaron Boone hoped that it would not be a major injury on the 29th, saying, “Judge is undoubtedly the best baseball player and we know what he means to our team. We do not want to lose him for a long time.”
Judge, who started all 26 games this season, is 24 hits (6 homers) in 92 at-bats, 14 RBIs, 18 runs, a batting average of 0.261, a slugging percentage of 0.511 and an on-base percentage of 0.351. Ahead of this season, he signed a 9-year contract with the Yankees for a total of 360 million dollars (about 482 billion won), breaking the record for free agents.메이저놀이터
The Yankees plan to call up first baseman/outfielder Jace Bowers from Triple-A if Judge has to go on the injured list. Bowers is active in Triple-A this year with 9 homers batting average of 0.319 and slugging average of 0.812.
