Women’s Table Tennis Sign Shin Yoo-bin, WTT Star Contender, will compete in Doha

Korean women’s table tennis ace Shin Yoo-bin (Korean Air) will compete at the 2025 World Table Tennis (WTT) Star Contender Doha Championship in Doha, Qatar, from January 6 to 11 next year.

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) released a list of athletes participating in the WTT Star Contender Doha competition on the 23rd (Korea time), with Shin Yu-bin participating in the women’s singles and mixed doubles.

Shin Yu-bin led Korea to the runner-up at the mixed group World Cup in December this year and the Asian team to win the Waldner Cup, but did not attend the nation’s most prestigious general championship (12.17-24, Samcheok, Gangwon-do).

WTT is a brand launched by the ITTF in 2021, and the Star Contender Doha competition has a high total prize money of $275,000 (KRW 398 million) among the WTT series.

For Shin Yoo-bin, the star contenter Doha competition will be the first international competition to participate next year, and a Korean player will compete alongside Seo Hyo-won (Korea Racing Authority) in the women’s singles.

Shin Yu-bin has a pleasant memory of winning the final match between Jeon Ji-hee (Mirae Asset Securities) and Korean players 4-3 at the same tournament last year. 먹튀검증

He will work with Cho Dae-sung (Samsung Life Insurance) in the mixed doubles, and Im Jong-hoon (Korea Exchange) will also participate in a duo with Kim Na-young (Posco International).

Cho Dae-sung, Ahn Jae-hyun (Korea Exchange), and Oh Jun-sung (Mirae Asset Securities) threw their hat into the men’s singles, while Lim Jong-hoon, Ahn Jae-hyun, and Cho Dae-sung and Oh Jun-sung were included in the men’s doubles list.

Meanwhile, world-class Chinese players do not participate because they overlap with their own tournament schedules.
