“Danggu Empress” Kim Ga-young (Hana Card) achieved the 10th career victory for the first time in the men’s and women’s professional team.
Kim Ga-young defeated Kwon Bal-hae (SY) by a set score of 4-1 (11-3 11-8 11-6 7-1 11-1 11-1) and won the trophy in the final of the Huons LPBA Championship held at KINTEX PBA Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province on the night of the 27th.
With this victory, Kim Ga-young won 40 million won in prize money, solidly maintaining the top spot in the women’s cumulative prize money ranking (461.8 million won).
Kim Ga-young has won three consecutive LPBA titles since the SY Bazar Hanoi Open, the third tour of the 2024-2025 season.
Kim Ga-young, who achieved the most wins in professional baseball history beyond PBA’s Frederik Kudron (Belgium) with nine wins in the previous tournament, the Crown Haitai LPBA Championship, has conquered the top 10 wins without hesitation.
Kwon Bal-hae, who faced Kim Ga-young in the final, tried to become the youngest champion (20 years and 3 months) in professional baseball, but fell to his knees.
Lee Yoo-joo, who shot Abidge 1.786 in the round of 64, received the “Welcome Top Ranking” (2 million won in prize money) given to the player with the highest average score in one game.
Kim Ga-young, who held the first and third sets in a row without hesitation, lost one set 7-11 by allowing Kwon Bal-hae to score three consecutive innings in the fourth set 7-7.
However, Kim Ga-young no longer allowed pursuit and swept seven high runs in six innings leading 4-1 in the fifth set to end the game 11-1.
Kim Ga-young said, “I’m really happy that I’ve won 10 titles in total, but I still have a long way to go. I thought I’ve grown up before, but I still lack the ability to get through when I’m in a crisis. I felt I shouldn’t neglect my practice.”
On the 28th, the final day of the competition, the men’s PBA semifinals and finals will be held.
At noon, David Martinez (Spain, Crown Haitai) and Park Seung-hee will face off, and at 3 p.m., the semifinals between Kang Dong-gung (SK Rent-a-Car) and Nguyen Phuong Lin (Vietnam) will follow.
At 9 p.m., the final round will be held for 100 million won in prize money. 스포츠토토
