Victim of ‘Busan Roundhouse Kick’ “Why does the judge forgive arbitrarily?”

The victim of the ‘Busan roundhouse kick’ incident appeared먹튀검증 at the National Assembly on the 20th and urged improvement of the system, saying, “The victim says he will not forgive, but why does the judge say he will forgive at will?”

Victim A appeared as a witness at the government audit of courts across the country held at the National Assembly on the 20th. Park Yong-jin of the Democratic Party of Korea and Cho Jung-hoon of the Democratic Party of Korea attended at the request of lawmaker Cho Jeong-hoon, and his name and face were not revealed.

Mr. A said, “I cannot understand at all why reflection, wages, and poor circumstances that have nothing to do with the trial are the sentencing criteria for the trial. I clearly feel that the state is inflicting secondary harm on the victims, so it must be corrected.” He said.

He also pointed out that the victim’s access to trial records is restricted. In response to Democratic Party lawmaker Park Yong-jin’s question about why he applied to view the trial records after the first trial, Mr. A said, “I first became suspicious of a sexual crime after hearing that there was a blind spot of 7 minutes in the first trial.” “I was refused permission to view the documents, and was advised to file a lawsuit against the perpetrator and request that the documents be sent,” he said.

Mr. A said, “The defendant’s right to defense was guaranteed, but the victim’s right to defense was not. I received the first trial record, but it was full of false statements (by the perpetrator) related to the sex crime and I could not argue with it.” “I did not receive a proper ruling on this,” he claimed.

He also said, “After the first trial verdict, the perpetrator said, ‘I will definitely kill you next time.’” He added, “I feel a suffocating fear because I feel like something that would have ended if I had dealt with this damage alone is now continuing to my family.”

Kim Hong-jun, Chief Justice of the Busan High Court, said, “After hearing the remarks of the witnesses, I feel very sad as the Chief Justice of the jurisdictional high court,” and added, “I offer my condolences.”

The ruling and opposition parties unanimously criticized Chief Justice Kim’s response as well as the court’s behavior.

Representative Park said, “In the end, you should reflect on the fact that by not providing the victim with the trial records, the victim’s identity information was exposed to the perpetrator and provided a cause for retaliatory crimes,” adding, “There are a total of 1,268 trial records that I have collected.” “The weight of the trial record is the weight of our people’s distrust of the judiciary,” he said.

Rep. Cho demanded an apology from Chief Justice Kim, saying, “Does it make sense to express regret?” Chief Justice Kim responded, “The direction of the arrow should be pointing toward the prosecution, not the court.”

Rep. Cho also said, “Is this place funny? Is this something to laugh about?” and criticized, “Shouldn’t humans feel a little sorry?”

People Power Party lawmaker Jeon Joo-hye said, “I offer my sincere condolences to the victim who is still in various mental pains,” and she comforted him, saying, “I salute his courage in coming out here.”
