Tottenham influence? J-League to European soccer manager again?

Is it the success of Angelos Postecoglou (58-Australia/Greece) in the world’s top club soccer? The possibility of the former Japan J-League coach heading to England again is mentioned.

“English Championship (second division) side Millwall are keen to sign Kevin Muscat (50-Australia/Malta) from Japanese J1 side Yokohama F.Marinos,” reported Glasgow Live on October 30. 캡틴토토

After managing Yokohama F.Marinos from 2018-2021 and Celtic (Scotland) from 2021-2023, Angelos Postecoglou took charge of Tottenham Hotspur (England), ranked 28th in the UEFA Club Rankings.

Tottenham are unbeaten in the English Premier League (EPL) this season with a record of 8 wins, 2 draws, 22 points, 9 losses, and a goal differential of +13 to 26 under head coach Angelos Postecoglou. The EPL is ranked No. 1 in Europe.

Head coach Kevin Muscat was the 2014-15 Aussie A-League Coach of the Year. He led Yokohama F.Marinos to the 2022 Japan J1 League and 2023 Japan Super Cup titles.

According to ‘Glasgow Live’, “Millwall are already in talks to bring in Kevin Muscat. The twist is that Yokohama F.Marinos have offered to extend his contract, which ends in January 2024.”

The English Championship is the sixth largest commercially in world soccer, according to transfer market specialist Transfermarkt. It’s no exaggeration to call it the world’s number one division.
