The future of Matt Thais, another catcher, is uncertain. Thais has run out of minor league options.

The Angels have been busy since early November. They acquired outfielder Jorge Soler and infielder Scott Kingery in trade and signed right-hander Kyle Hendricks to a one-year contract.
