Busan Sajik Baseball Stadium will be renovated as an open baseball stadium with the goal of opening in 2031, and Busan Sports Complex will be transformed into a sports and cultural complex.
Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon held a press conference at Busan City Hall on the afternoon of the 20th and announced a vision to reconstruct Sajik Baseball Stadium and develop a comprehensive stadium complex based on the results of consultations with Lotte Giants.
According to the results of a comprehensive review of the accessibility, ease of use, and historicity of the stadium, the city decided to build Sajik Baseball Stadium at its current location with 21,000 seats.
It will be an open stadium so that you can vividly experience Busan’s passionate cheering culture.
The total area will increase significantly from 36,406 square meters to 61,900 square meters.
Unlike the surrounding environment when Sajik Baseball Stadium was built, noise and light pollution are minimized by a downfield method that lowers the ground level in consideration of changes in the environment where apartments are concentrated and Busan cheering culture.
The new ballpark, which will be built in 2031, will be built as a complex sports and cultural facility. It will be reborn as a non-stop stadium even in the off-season when there are no professional baseball games.
The city will place seats such as family zones and kids zones reflecting recent trends inside and outside the baseball stadium, and develop various hands-on contents such as stadium tour programs.
It operates start-up studios, sports pubs, restaurants, and kids cafes, sports product pop-up stores, children’s and youth sports complex experience spaces, and academies to provide visitors with something to see and enjoy.
Before the opening of the baseball stadium in 2031, the temporary use of Sajik Baseball Stadium will be remodeled and utilized as the Asiad Main Stadium.
Starting with the Sajik Baseball Stadium Design Contest next year, the city will begin reconstruction from 2028 to 2030.
The city and Lotte will pay for the remodeling work at a ratio of 7 to 3, and the city will pay for the remodeling work that is additionally incurred due to the increase in construction costs and labor costs.
The gymnasium and swimming pool in Busan Sports Complex will be relocated and grass picnic parks and leisure facilities will be created.
Underground parking lots are secured.
The auxiliary stadium will be created as an open space for citizens by introducing a circular bridge (ring bridge) exclusively for pedestrians, adding jogging and walking courses. 온라인바카라
