“Ronaldo on the left foot”…Indonesia Welcomes Coach Yeom Ki-hoon

Indonesia, ranked 133rd in the world, is happy to recruit Yeom Ki-hoon (41), coach of the national soccer team.

Yeom served as the acting coach and manager of Suwon Samsung Plays in the 2023 season. He coached the teams that had been relegated to the K League 2 as regular managers until May 2024.

Indonesia’s terrestrial channel “TV1” introduced coach Yeom Ki-hoon as “a new assistant who will help coach Shin Tae-yong (54) strengthen and refine the front line of the national team in the future.”

“It is definitely a good contract. Ramadan Sananta will be able to grow faster,” said Nova Aryanto (46), the coach of Indonesia’s national under-16 national soccer team.

The Indonesian Football Association has been providing coach Nova Aryanto as its coach since last year. Ramadan Sananta is the top scorer at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games and the 11th best player at the 4th Southeast Asian Football Association (AFF) U-23 Championship.

Coach Nova Aryanto said, “Coach Yeom Ki-hoon is a leader with quite outstanding qualities. I see hope that he can strengthen his Indonesian capability by assisting coach Shin Tae-yong.”

“TV One” also said, “Ramadan Sananta often seems lost and confused in A-match, which is higher than the under-23 national competition. Coach Yeom Ki-hoon will be able to sharpen his sharp instincts as a striker.” 안전놀이터

While playing for the Korean pro soccer team as an active player, Yeom Ki-hoon showed brilliant performance with 103 points and 131 assists in 546 games and 0.54 attack points per 71.9 minutes and 90 minutes of play. It is quite impressive that he has been involved in scoring more than one goal on average twice full-time, even though he played for 18 seasons since his debut in 2026.

“Tv1” predicted, “Coach Yeom Ki-hoon, who has performed well for nearly 20 years, can be an example for Indonesian players who do not know what to do and how to repent of their past mistakes and enter a new path.”

“Coach Yeom Ki-hoon is the player who scored the most points in K-League 1 career assist and direct free kick. This is the left-footed version of the Korean version of Cristiano Ronaldo (39, Portugal).” – Indonesian broadcaster TV1 –
