KIA Tigers, the leading professional baseball team, is expected to say goodbye to Cam Aldred, a short-term replacement for injury, and recruit new foreign pitcher Eric Lauer (29).
KIA eliminated Aldred from its first-team entry on the 5th.
An official from KIA said, “We are pursuing a contract with Lauer,” and added, “The administrative process has not been completed yet, but it seems that it will be completed positively.”
Lauer is a pitcher who showed off his top skills in the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB) by playing 11 wins, 7 losses and a 3.69 ERA with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2022.
He had a 4-6 record with a 6.56 ERA with Milwaukee last season, and was released by the Houston Astros earlier this month after playing in the minor leagues this year.
His minor league record this season is 4 wins, 5 losses and a 5.26 ERA.
KIA seems to have decided that this season is the right time to win the Korean Series and sought to recruit Lauer, who has been a starter in the U.S. professional baseball until recently.
Existing foreign pitcher Wil Crowe was diagnosed with most of the damage to the elbow’s inner side in May.
KIA waited for Crowe to join, but due to the slow recovery speed, it recruited Aldred and pushed for a special player who can play in the postseason.
Kia plans to finalize its contract with Lauer within this week and officially announce it.
In order for Lauer to play in the KBO League postseason, the registration process must be completed by the 15th.
Aldred, who is saying goodbye to KIA, had 3 wins, 2 losses and an ERA of 4.53 in nine games this season. 메이저사이트
