Kershaw decides to stay, has shoulder surgery→Could the 210-win legend return to the Dodgers?

Los Angeles Dodgers 210-win legend Clayton Kershaw, 35, has had shoulder surgery. In effect, he announced an extension of his contract. He hopes to return next summer.

Kershaw announced the news on social media on Thursday (April 4).

The surgery was performed by Dr. Neil Ellatrache. Dr. Ellatrache is no stranger to Korean fans. Dr. Ellatrache has performed both of Ryu’s surgeries since entering the major leagues, and has also recently performed surgeries on Shohei Ohtani and Woo-jin Ahn (Kiwoom Heroes).

Ryu has been rehabbing for a little over a year, and Kershaw is expected to take the same amount of time.

“I’m hoping to be able to throw again at some point next summer,” Kershaw said.

Kershaw has struggled with a shoulder injury this season. Despite being sidelined for some time, Kershaw still managed to establish himself as an ace, going 13-5 with a 2.46 ERA in 24 starts, striking out 137 batters in 131⅔ innings.

In fact, Kershaw has battled shoulder injuries. In 2019, he started the season on the disabled list with shoulder inflammation.

It continued to bother him and eventually broke down in fall ball. His velocity was noticeably slower and his limitations were evident.

Kershaw started Game 1 of the division series against Arizona, and the results were shocking: six runs on six hits, one home run, one walk, and six strikeouts in ⅓ of an inning.

Kershaw’s poor performance led to the Dodgers being swept out of the Division Series, which was an absolute disaster.

After his shocking fall ball performance, Kershaw went on the DL. He was between an extension and retirement. The Dodgers decided to wait for his decision.

Kershaw will miss the entire 2024 season with this surgery. We”ll have to see how his rehab progresses, but he might not even be able to pitch next year.

This is also expected to be a factor in his free agency. Kershaw’s salary for this season is $20 million. It will be interesting to see if he decides to stay with the Dodgers or sign with another team, and what kind of deal it will be. 아톰카지노

It has been reported that Kershaw will most likely choose one of three options: re-sign with the Dodgers, sign with his hometown Texas Rangers, or retire.

It’s also possible that he’ll sign a deal that’s more focused on next season than 2024, with an option or incentive for the following season. The only variable is that he’ll be 30 years old before Opening Day next year.

The fact that he had the surgery in the first place could be interpreted as an indication that he wants to extend his career.

Kershaw is the Dodgers’ ace. Since his debut in the big leagues in 2008, he”s become one of the best pitchers in the game. He has a career record of 210-92 with a 2.48 ERA. He’s had a stellar career with the Dodgers, winning three Cy Young Awards and five ERA titles.
