Candidate Hong Seok-joo will lead Park Golf’s four-year future in the 4th election for the president of the Korea Park Golf Association.
At the 4th election of the Korea Park Golf Association held at Olympic Parktel Olympia Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul on Tuesday, 135 out of 138 electors participated in the voting, and Hong Seok-joo, the No. 1 candidate, won the election with 53 votes. Hong Seok-joo, a businessman-turned-elect, served as vice president of the Daegu Park Golf Association from 2018 to 2020, and as president of the Buk-gu Park Golf Association from 2022 to June. He also served as the director of the Korea Park Golf Association and played a major role in attracting the first presidential national park golf tournament in Daegu, which was held in March 2024.
The president-elect’s pledges include recruiting talented people, researching and developing park golf programs, establishing member-centered infrastructure, expanding park golf courses, and implementing autonomous operation of stadiums.
“I am grateful to all those who believed in me and voted for me. I will run a member-centered association that is as transparent and fair as my pledge,” Hong said in his greeting speech.
Hong Seok-joo will serve as the president-elect of the Korea Park Golf Association for four years from January 16, 2025 to January 2029.
