Heo Jung-moo, who criticized the FTC for approving Chung Mong-kyu’s fourth term, calls for reorganization of the president of the Korea Football Association’s electoral composition “to ensure the participation of all soccer players.”

Huh Jung-moo, former chairman of Hana Citizen in Daejeon, who is running for the 55th presidential election of the Korea Football Association, criticized the results of the Korea Sports Council’s Sports Fair Committee, which approved the current president of the Korea Football Association Chung Mong-kyu’s bid for a second term. He also expressed his opinion that the composition of the presidential election of the Korea Football Association should be reorganized to ensure the participation of all soccer players.

“Chairman Chung is known to have passed the FTC’s review for a second term. This has removed the biggest obstacle to serving a fourth term,” Huh said in a press release on Wednesday. “The Fair Trade Commission only disclosed the fact that it passed the evaluation table without disclosing the contents of the evaluation table. It adds to the question of what categories the FTC scored in.”

“No matter how generous you give, the maximum score that you can give to Chairman Chung seems to be difficult to exceed 20-30 out of 100. However, it is not easy to understand how Chung passed the screening,” he said. “The majority of the people know that Chung’s incompetence and morality can no longer remain as chairman, but the FTC made a completely different judgment.”
“In particular, when we recall that the FTC chairman in charge of the screening was found to have received golf treatment from Chairman Chung and there was controversy that he should be investigated for violating the anti-graft law, we cannot help but think seriously about fairness. That’s why we need to disclose the evaluation table even more,” he said. “We need to disclose the evaluation table and the list of members to be strictly judged by the public.”

Former chairman Huh also pointed out, “According to the election management regulations of the president of the Korea Football Association, K1 to K4 and WK League players and leaders are included in addition to representatives and executives of the local soccer association, professional soccer federation, and professional first division. However, it is a problem because leaders and players cannot participate in the election and exercise precious votes so far.”

“Elections must consist of electors representing the areas of each field so that the opinions of all members can be represented. If these principles are not observed, representatives elected by indirect elections will absolutely not be representative,” he said. “It should never be the case that elections take place without K1 to 4 leagues, WK league players and leaders in the presidential election of the 먹튀검증 Korea Football Association.”

Finally, Heo said, “Especially in the K1 to K4 leagues, most overseas training sessions are scheduled during voting days, making it almost impossible to exercise the right to vote. Therefore, the election management committee of the Korea Football Association should quickly reveal a solution. It is not easy to recognize the representation of the elected president without reflecting the opinions of those who are in charge of one of the pillars of Korean soccer.”

Meanwhile, the election for the president of the Korea Football Association will take place on January 8 next year after registering as a candidate from the 25th to the 27th. Currently, the candidates who have announced their intention to run for the election are former chairman Huh, chairman Chung and three visiting professors at Myongji University. The Korea Football Association said on the 12th that the election management committee was formed and the election began. The election management committee consisted of four lawyers, three professors and one member of a media organization.
