“Competing against Choi Jung (SSG Landers) was a great experience and learning experience. I hope I can win the Golden Glove.”
Noh Si-hwan (Hanwha Eagles), who is aiming for his first golden glove, said.
The 2023 KBO Golden Glove Award Ceremony will be held on Nov. 11 at the COEX Auditorium in Samseong-dong, Seoul. Noh, who is a favorite to win the third baseman category, met with reporters before the event.
Selected by Hanwha with the third overall pick in the 2019 Secondary First Round, Noh is a right-handed hitting infielder. He was hitting just .250 (1337-for-334) with 37 home runs and 199 RBIs in 420 career games until last year, but he broke out this season. He batted .298 (514-for-153) with 31 home runs and 101 RBIs in 131 games. 헤라카지노
At the age of 22, Noh won the home run and RBI titles. He is only the third player in KBO history to win a home run title before the age of 23, joining Doosan Bears manager Lee Seung-yeop, who became the youngest player ever to win a home run title (1997) at the age of 21, and Jang Jong-hoon, a KBO talent donor who won the title in 1990 at the age of 22.
Noh will also become the second-youngest player in KBO history to hit 30 home runs and 100 RBIs, joining Lee Seung-yeop, who hit 32 home runs and 114 RBIs at age 21 in 1997. With such a distinguished record, Noh is also aiming for his first Golden Glove.
“I don’t know if I’ll get it or not, but I hope I do. I only watched the Golden Globe Awards on TV when I was younger. It’s exciting to come to the ceremony as a nominee myself.”
This year, Noh is having a busy winter, attending various award shows, including the KBO Awards. It’s easy to imagine that he might be exhausted.
“Honestly, I didn’t think about it. I always improvise, but today, since it’s the Golden Globe, I’m thinking about giving a special acceptance speech that I’m confident in,” he said.
Noh’s strongest competition is Choi Jung. “(Choi) has been a great role model and competitor for me. I competed against her in all the record categories this year, and I think it was a great experience and learning experience for me. She’s even competing for a Golden Glove, which I hope I get,” she smiles.
Choi has won eight Golden Globes to date. “It seems like you’ve won a lot of them,” said Noh, “and I’m going to do my best to get more than eight.”
