“Everyone but the Korea Football Association is in one mind.” Park Ji-sung’s renewed need for reform

JS Foundation Chairman Park Ji-sung left a determined statement targeting Chung Mong-kyu, chairman of the Korea Football Association.

Chairman Park met with reporters after attending the 13th JS Foundation Talent Student Donation Ceremony held at the WI Convention at Suwon World Cup Stadium on the 8th and mentioned the situation related to the soccer association.

“Honestly, nothing has changed in the current situation,” he said, adding, “I think it will depend on how this problem ends. We have to wait and see the outcome.”
“It is true that (the Korea Football Association) has lost trust to many people. I think we need to make sure that we complete the process of restoring trust and going in the right direction,” he added.

먹튀검증 The Korea Football Association has been criticized for numerous controversies, ranging from the amnesty scandal of match-fixing soccer players to suspicions about the process of appointing Hong Myung-bo.

Chairman Chung Mong-kyu, who is in charge of the parliamentary committee on culture, sports and tourism, has appeared twice as a witness in pending inquiries and parliamentary audits.

In the end, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism demanded severe disciplinary action beyond the suspension of qualifications from Chairman Chung, Vice Chairman Kim Jung-bae, and technical director Lee Im-saeng as a result of a specific audit.

As the days go by, the pressure on the Korea Football Association is getting stronger, and Chairman Chung’s position is shaking.

Chairman Park, who also left a determined statement to the Korea Football Association in July, pointed out, “After all, the association is also doing administrative work, and it is a place where people who are good at administrative work gather. Regardless of who you become, shouldn’t you need someone who can do the job well and lead it honestly?”

The remarks are interpreted as targeting Chairman Chung, who is even mentioned as severe punishment for various issues, including violations of the process for appointing former German coach Jurgen Klinsmann and Hong and false applications for subsidies for the construction of the Cheonan Football Center.

Chairman Park also said, “I also felt why many people are angry and don’t understand,” adding, “I learned the details of the parliamentary audit attended by Chairman Chung.”

He added, “In the end, it seems to be a matter of who is looking at this problem and how, but now everyone other than the association seems to be looking at the other side with one mind.”

Chairman Park emphasized, “We need to find a solution to the problem on our own,” but lamented, “I’m not sure how it will be concluded because (the Korea Football Association) has shown consistent and not changing.”

“If there’s anything I can do to help, I honestly don’t know what it’s going to be, but I think I’ll be willing to do it if there’s anything that my experience and my experience abroad can help,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Korea Football Association is reportedly considering whether to request a reconsideration after the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s announcement of a rebuttal to a specific audit.
