“I will never be deceived by medicine again.”
Oh Jae-won (39, Doosan Bears) was sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of 24.74 million won from the prosecution at the Seoul Central District Court’s hearing on charges of violating the law on the aggravated punishment of certain crimes (such as retaliation threats).
Oh Jae-won was accused of administering methamphetamine 11 times between November 2022 and November last year. In April last year, he was arrested and charged with storing about 0.4 grams of methamphetamine in a fire hydrant in the hallway of an acquaintance’s apartment.
The charges of revenge assault and intimidation were also added. When the man, who was also charged with taking methamphetamine, tried to report the drug to the police, he was accused of breaking his mobile phone and grabbing him by the collar. 먹튀검증
Both A and Oh Jae-won admitted to taking methamphetamine. The prosecution asked A for two years in prison at the previous trial.
While Oh Jae-won was sentenced to five years in prison and additional fines, Oh Jae-won’s lawyer admitted to the charges, saying, “He is confessing to all psychotropic drugs.”
However, he denied the retaliation assault. Oh Jae-won’s lawyer said, “The evidence related to the retaliation assault is A’s statement. A is making an unreliable statement even in court. Even if you look at the text messages from the fact-finding application, there was already talk about embroidery on April 7, 2024. Nevertheless, he said in court that he did not remember. If you look at the text, you cannot help but remember it,” he said.
In addition, he stated, “After November 2023, I did not administer methamphetamine. I relied on other drugs to reduce my addiction while taking methamphetamine, but the methamphetamine drug is clearly confirmed in the indictment, etc. He stated, “Please include this and take care of it.”
Oh Jae-won also wrote down and read the closing argument himself. Oh Jae-won said, “I want to sincerely apologize and ask for forgiveness by causing trouble. I am reflecting on myself every day. As I was addicted to drugs, I thought I would never live a healthy life again, but I am enjoying my heart as a healthy person. I want to say that I am truly sorry to those who have suffered from me, and I will not change my feelings of atonement even for these people. Lastly, I am reflecting on my father, who is more difficult than me, and my mother, younger brother, and loved one, who are not comfortable with me.”
Oh Jae-won also said, “There is a part that is different from the truth,” and told a story with the part of retaliation and assault in mind. At the same time, he said, “I think it’s all because I fell into the wrong path. I promise not to touch the medicine again, and I will never rely on it again to eat away at myself. I will atone for the rest of my life and live with a heart of service.”
The court is scheduled to issue a sentence later this month.
Meanwhile, Oh Jae-won and his acquaintance and supplier, identified only by his surname Lee, were additionally indicted on charges of receiving about 0.2 grams of methamphetamine in November last year and are on trial.
