‘Drink and skip training’ Manchester United can’t stand it…Spitula FW release → Saudi-PSG release

Manchester United want to sell club franchise star Marcus Rashford because privacy is so messy.

The British Telegraph reported on the 10th (Korea Standard Time) that “Manchester United is showing an active attitude toward selling Marcus Rashford due to lifestyle issues. I was willing to release Rashford last summer and I was willing to accept any offer.”

The media explained, “Manchester United are concerned about the lifestyle Rashford is showing off the field. There are concerns that he is no longer focusing on football. Rashford is dealing with several off-game obstacles that affect his performance.”

According to the Telegraph, Rashford was fined and disciplined to exclude the starting list after it was discovered that he had drunk too much in January, when the season was in full swing.

Rashford is a one-club man who played only for Manchester United throughout his career. Since his professional debut in 2016, he has played in 425 games, scoring 138 goals and 67 assists.

During the 2022-2023 season, he was an ace on the offensive, scoring 30 goals and 11 assists in 56 games across all competitions. Thanks to his performance, Manchester United signed a long-term contract with Rashford until 2028.
However, his performance last season fell short of expectations. He played in 43 matches, but had only eight goals and five assists. Compared to his 43 offensive points in the previous season, he certainly had a sluggish season.

The same applies to this season. He played in 23 official matches, but has only seven goals and three assists. Of the four goals he scored in the league, three came from coach Huveng Amorim who assumed the post in mid-October. This means that he had performed so poorly that he had only one goal before then.

During the summer transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain wanted Rashford. However, the transfer failed because manager Erik ten Hag, who was leading Manchester United, preferred to keep Rashford.

Rashford, who remains in the team, eventually emerged as a target for release despite being a franchise star as he failed to show a rebound.

“In January, Rashford was seen drinking all night in Belfast, and two weeks’ worth of weekly pay was fined,” the Telegraph said. “Rashford reported a disease and was excluded from the 스포츠토토 FA Cup match against Newporty County.”

England’s The Busbybabe added: “Rashford didn’t show up for training hours later after a night in Belfast. In December 2022, he showed up late at the team meeting and didn’t play in the first half of the match against Wolverhampton.”

“Rashford is a limited player. He is good in certain situations, but his play is limited in many other situations,” he said. “Manchester United has brought in a new coach and it raises questions about exactly where Rashford fits in the system.”

United are still open to selling Rashford. While Rashford has scored three goals in five games under Amorim, showing he has a chance to turn things around, United want to confirm Rashford’s hunger and desire.

“Rashford’s time is coming to an end. The fact that Manchester United found teams that potentially wanted Rashford before the start of this season shows how much Rashford has fallen,” the Telegraph newspaper said. “After signing his contract in January last year, he became one of the club’s highest paid players. Since then, he has been away from the English national team and has not played in Euro 2024. March was the last A-match.”

According to the Telegraph, United intend to release Rashford through the summer transfer window rather than January next year.

Saudi Arabia is the most likely destination. This is because Rashford is contracted with Manchester United until 2028, and few clubs will match the high weekly salary.

“Saudi Arabia could be an option. At the same time, France’s PSG has often been discussed,” the media said. “Although it could be a relatively low transfer fee, the sale of Rashford would be an attractive option in terms of profitability and sustainability regulations (PSR).”

The Busbybabe also added, “From a business standpoint, now is the time to cash in on Rashford. If Rashford is to be transferred, it is important for a club to offer enough money to make a deal, or whether the team’s weekly salary is equivalent to the current Rashford weekly wage, or whether Rashford remains willing to go to that team.”
