Continued low-seeded rebellion… Kansas City beats Baltimore to DS

The American League wild-card series ended with a revolt by the lower seeds.

The Kansas City Royals, the fifth seed in the American League, beat the fourth-seeded Baltimore Orioles 2-1 in Game 2 of the wild-card series at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on the 3rd (Korea time).

The win clinched their place in the next round with two wins in the series. They face the New York Yankees in the division series.

Kansas City got ahead first in the top of the first inning. Leadoff hitter Michael Mash got on base with a double to right field, and Vinny Pasquantino hit a hit to the right field with one out and a runner on third.

Baltimore didn’t just back down. Cedric Mullins’ solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning tied the game 1-1.

Baltimore Orioles filled the bases with Ramon Urías’ hit, Gunner Henderson’s walk, and Seth Lugo’s error, seeking a chance to turn the tables. However, all subsequent hitters were out and missed the opportunity.

The Kansas City Royals made the team pay the price for its attack in the top of the sixth inning. With runners on the first and third bases with two outs, Bobby Witt Jr. hit a ground ball to the second base and overcame the opponent’s throw by sprinting to score a lead. 스포츠토토

He failed to score any more points, but he held on thanks to the strength of the mound. In the top of the fifth inning of the game, five bullpen pitchers blocked four-thirds of the inning with one hit, one homer, one walk, six strikeouts, and one run in relief of starter Lugo (4 1/3 innings), starting with Angel Zerpa, who pitched one scoreless inning.

Baltimore went down with starter Zach Eflin allowing four hits, one walk, three strikeouts and one run in four innings. Cionel Perez allowed the winning run and became the losing pitcher.

After being eliminated from the Division Series by losing all three games last season, the team failed to overcome its first crisis for two consecutive years. Since the 2014 championship series was eliminated with four consecutive losses, the team has recorded 10 consecutive postseason wins alone.
