Although the 2G continuous cycling record was not achieved… ‘Bang! Bang! Bang!’ Doosan caught KIA and changed the rankings, ‘running for 6 consecutive wins and securing 5th place’

The Doosan Bears went on a 6-game winning streak, taking down the KIA Tigers. He was hoping to set a record of two consecutive cycling hits, but one triple was lacking.

Doosan won 8 to 3 in an away game against the KIA Tigers held at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on the 17th. Doosan, which was tied for 5th place with SSG Landers, recorded 63 wins (1 draw, 57 losses) in the season, pushing KIA Tigers (60 wins, 2 draws, 56 losses), which was in 4th place, down the rankings. If SSG loses both double header games to the LG Twins, Doosan will rise to 4th place. SSG takes 5th place and KIA takes 6th place. Doosan succeeded in securing 5th place.

The home team KIA consists of Kim Do-young (shortstop), Choi Won-jun (right fielder), Na Seong-beom (designated hitter), Choi Hyeong-woo (left fielder), Socrates Brito (center fielder), Kim Seon-bin (second baseman), Hwang Dae-in (first baseman), Byun Woo-hyuk (third baseman). -The starting lineup was formed in the order of Han Jun-su (catcher). Byun Woo-hyuk, who was called up the day before (16th), entered the starting lineup.

Doosan has Su-bin Jeong (center fielder), Jae-ho Kim (shortstop), Seok-hwan Yang (first baseman), Eui-ji Yang (catcher), Jose Rojas (left fielder), Seung-ho Kang (second baseman), Gyeong-min Heo (third baseman), Jun-young Park (designated hitter), and Cho. Su Dong (right fielder) started. Kim Jae-hwan, who had been performing poorly recently, was excluded from the lineup, and Park Jun-young was named as the designated hitter.

It was a plan to target KIA starting pitcher Thomas Panoni. On the 6th, he faced Panoni in the KIA game and lost with 3 hits and no runs in 6 innings.

Doosan coach Lee Seung-yeop said, “Panoni’s hitting percentage as a left-handed hitter is a little high, and (Kim) Jae-hwan had a hard time. (Park) Jun-young shows good performance and is good at selecting the ball, so I put him in the starting lineup.”

Doosan’s operation was successful. Panoni struggled with 8 hits (2 home runs), 1 strikeout, and 5 runs (4 earned) in 5 innings.

Doosan starter Raul Alcantara gave up 3 runs, 8 hits, 1 walk, 5 strikeouts, and 6 innings.

Following Alcantara, Doosan maintained its victory with Kim Myeong-shin (1 inning, no runs), Kim Kang-ryul (⅔ inning, no runs), Hong Geon-hee스포츠토토 (1 inning, no runs), and Jeong Cheol-won (1⅓ inning, no runs) on the mound.

Doosan took the lead with a home run in the top of the second inning. Kang Seung-ho, who recorded the KBO League’s first reverse natural cycling hit (home run, triple, double, single) in the game against KIA on the 15th, attacked Panoni’s low curve and went over the left fence. Kang Seung-ho’s 7th home run of the season. Seung-ho Kang later added a double and a hit, looking for his first 2G consecutive cycling hit, but he was short of a triple.

KIA also immediately made up for the score. Leadoff hitter Kim Sun-bin reached base with an infield hit, and Byun Woo-hyuk and Han Jun-su hit consecutive hits to balance the score at 1-1.

Doosan scored an additional point in the top of the third inning. After one out, Cho Soo-haeng got on base with a bunt hit in front of the third baseman, and the third baseman made an error during Kim Jae-ho’s at-bat. Afterwards, Yang Seok-hwan’s timely hit retook the lead to 2-1.

Doosan’s lineup card in the top of the 5th inning was successful. Park Joon-young, who appeared as the leadoff hitter, hit a home run that went over the left field fence, and then hits by Jo Soo-haeng and Jeong Soo-bin, Kim Jae-ho’s sacrifice bunt, and Yang Seok-hwan’s timely double made it 6-1.

After Panoni, KIA’s Joong-Hyun Yoon (⅔ innings, no runs), Dae-yu Kim (⅔ innings, 1 run allowed), Seung-Hyun Kim (⅔ innings, no runs), Kwak Do-gyu (⅔ innings, 1 run), and Jang Hyun-Sik (1⅔ innings, 1 run) took the mound.

KIA also hit a home run. After two outs, Choi Won-jun hit a single, and Na Seong-beom hit Alcantara’s forkball and went over the right fence. Na Seong-beom drew his 18th arch of the season.

In the top of the 7th inning, Doosan once again benefited from KIA’s mistake. While Jeong Soo-bin hit a pitcher’s ground ball, the pitcher’s throwing error continued. Afterwards, Yang Seok-hwan’s timely hit came. The properly hit ball hit the top of the left wall and appeared to be a home run, but it was ruled a hit after video review.

Doosan went up 7-3 in the top of the 8th inning with hits by Seung-ho Kang and Gyeong-min Heo and an infield hit by Su-haeng Cho. Afterwards, Su-bin Su’s walk left the bases loaded, but the follow-up batter’s double play prevented an additional point.

Doosan put a wedge in the game when Yang Eui-ji hit a solo home run against Jang Hyun-sik in the top of the 9th inning. Yang Eui-ji achieved 2,700 bases in his career with this home run. 31st record in history.

With one out in the bottom of the 9th inning, KIA Byun Woo-hyuk and Lee Chang-jin hit, and Choi Won-jun walked to load the bases. Doosan used closing pitcher Jeong Cheol-won and posted an out count without conceding any runs. Jeong Cheol-won was lucky enough to make his 9th save of the season.
