“A down payment that went back in order…” LG 1R Kim Young-woo signed a 200 million won contract. However, he invested 150 million won in the 151 km pitcher of 2R. He also gave more to the 3R catcher

The LG Twins have finalized their contracts with 12 2025 rookies.

He signed a 200 million won contract with Kim Young-woo, the 10th fastball pitcher of Seoul High School in the first round. After the draft, LG manager Yeom Kyung-yeop smiled, saying, “We have a 150-kilometer pitcher.”

Kim Young-woo made headlines by throwing 156 kilometers of fastballs as the closing pitcher in the high school-college All-Star Game held on June 6. However, Seoul High School, where Kim Young-woo belongs, did not make any significant performances in this year’s national competition. Kim Young-woo recorded 2-1 with a 3.33 ERA in 12 games. He struck out 31 in 27 innings. LG said of Kim Young-woo, “His strength is that he has a stable pitching balance and a fast ball with a large drop with a simple arm swing. His release point is also high, so he has good fastball angle and good ball movement.”

When he was a second grader, he underwent Tommy John surgery in October 2022, and paid for it. He could have competed with Hwang Joon-seo (Hanwha) and Kim Taek-yeon (Doosan), two of his classmates, but had to take more than a year off due to injury, and displayed his healthy arm by spraying 156 kilometers this year, but failed to receive the top nomination. This allowed him to catch the fireballer that LG wanted.

LG signed a contract with Gyeonggi High School pitcher Shin Hyung-hyun, who was nominated in the second round, with a small down payment of 150 million won. NC Kim Tae-hoon (Sorae High School pitcher, No. 7), SSG Shin Ji-hwan (Seongnam High School pitcher, No. 8), and KT Park Gun-woo (Chungam High School pitcher, No. 9), all received 120 million won in down payment. Most of the down payments are reduced in the order of nomination, but it is unusual for Shin, who is ranked 10th in the second round, to receive 150 million won, 30 million won more than them. 스포츠토토

While playing as a third baseman, Ryu also played as a pitcher. He is talented in batting, but he sprayed fastballs with speeds of more than 150 kilometers as a pitcher, and his ball control has stabilized, so LG plans to raise Ryu as a pitcher.

LG also handed down 110 million won in down payment to Lee Han-rim, a high school catcher who was selected in the third round. In the third round, Kiwoom Yeo Jun-seo (Gyeonggi High School infielder) and Hanwha Han Ji-yoon (Gyeonggi Sang High School catcher) received 110 million won each, while Samsung Cha Seung-joon (Yongmago infielder) received 120 million won, and after the fourth round, all received 100 million won in down payment. However, Lee Han-rim, ranked 10th, received 10 million won more.

It can be said that LG has given more recognition to the players’ possibilities.

LG signed Kyungdong High School infielder Lee Tae-hoon in the fourth round for 80 million won, and completed contracts with 12 new players, including Gyeonggi Air High School pitcher Sung Joon-seo (30 million won), who was selected in the 11th round.
