Actor Kim Seung-woo defeated Yoo Seung-an to become the chairman of the Little Baseball Federation

Actor Kim Seung-woo was elected president of the Korea Little Baseball Federation.

The Korea Little Baseball Federation said on Wednesday that Kim Seung-woo was elected as the seventh president through an election. Kim will lead the federation over the next four years after defeating the current chairman Yoo Seung-an.

Kim Seung-woo has been with the celebrity baseball team Playboy since 2005 after earning a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s degree in sports management from Suwon University. Playboyz drew attention in 2008 when it signed a sponsorship contract with Mizuno, the world’s largest sporting goods company, and played a friendly match with the OB team of the Japanese professional baseball team at Tokyo Dome in Japan in 2011.

His major pledges include solving the problem of double registration of Little Baseball players in their first year of middle school, revitalizing Korea-Japan, Korea-Taiwan, Korea-U.S. Little Baseball International Exchange Games, expanding sponsorship attraction, transparent financial management, and improving the supply and demand of players using media.

It also announced a plan to publicize the news related to Little Baseball by utilizing the relationship with the media formed through entertainment activities.

In particular, Kim suggested realistic solutions to financial problems. Regarding the national competition to be held at Hwaseong Dream Park, Kim promised to revive the regulation on participation of local teams in the national competition three times a year in order to ease the burden of accommodation costs through agreements with lodging companies and ease the burden on local teams to participate in the national competition.

Kim Seung-woo, the new chairman, showed his willingness to take the lead in the development of Little Baseball and improving the environment for players, putting forward the slogan, “Kim Seung-woo will do it.”
