Heungkuk Life Insurance Co., Ltd. beat IBK Industrial Bank of Korea to set a new team record of 14 consecutive wins. Kim Yeon-koung (36) achieved at least 5,000 points in matches.
On the 13th, Heungkuk Life defeated IBK Industrial Bank of Korea with a set score of 3-0 (25-10, 25-23, 25-19) in the third round of the women’s division of the Dodram 2024-2025 V-League at Hwaseong Gymnasium. As a result, the team has won 14 consecutive games, the most in history, over 13 consecutive wins in the 2007-2008 season.
If Heungkuk Life Insurance wins one more game, it will tie Hyundai Engineering & Construction’s record of 15 consecutive wins in a single V-League women’s season, which was achieved twice (2021-2022, 2022-2023 season).
“Unfortunately, I was there when I won the most consecutive games,” Kim said. “I’m happy to break a new record,” Kim said. “I’m happy to win 14 consecutive games, but I want to prepare well for the next game.”
Kim Yeon-kyung, who had 4,987 points until the last game, scored 14 points each for blocking and serving, reaching the 5,000-point mark.
“I don’t think I have much emotion in my record anymore. I just want people to congratulate me a lot,” Kim said. “I always have Yang Hyo-jin (Hyundai Engineering & Construction) in front of me. Still, I want to make it meaningful that I scored at least 5,000 points in a game.” 안전놀이터
This season, Kim won MVP in both rounds. The prize money is 2 million won each.
