Brazilian superstar Neymar Al-Hilal shook off his left knee injury for the first time in a year, but collapsed again just two weeks later. He is suffering from right hamstring injury this time. Al-Hilal reported on Neymar’s ruptured hamstring, predicting that he will be out for up to six weeks.
According to a medical report released on Al Hilal’s official website on the 7th (Korea Standard Time), Neymar recently underwent a thorough examination and was confirmed to have ruptured his right hamstring. Neymar is scheduled to leave the battlefield for at least four to up to six weeks, with treatment and rehabilitation scheduled at the same time.
Earlier, Neymar was injured in the fourth home game of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League Elite (ACLE) league stage in 2024-2025 against Estegral at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the 5th.
At the time, Neymar pushed his right foot forward to receive a pass from the left side of the penalty box in the 42nd minute of the second half, but held the back of his thigh and complained of discomfort. Eventually, he sent a signal that he could no longer play, and returned to the bench 29 minutes after he was substituted.
Later, local officials predicted that Neymar had a problem with his right hamstring. And the actual rupture was confirmed. A hamstring rupture usually takes about three to four weeks to return, but it may take more than a month depending on the situation because it requires thorough management as the probability of recurrence is high.
Neymar left Paris Saint-Germain for Al-Hilal in August last year. According to local news reports, Neymar was paid a whopping 150 million euros in basic salary. It is the all-time mega-offer. The transfer fee that he is leaving for PSG is estimated at around 90 million euros.
Neymar also offered a luxury mansion with eight supercars, 25 rooms and three saunas as conditions for his contract. He was also promised support for his private jet when traveling, and reportedly signed the contract with Al-Hilal paying the full amount whenever he used a hotel or restaurant.
Neymar, who signed a two-year contract with Al-Hilal, said, “I have achieved many things and had a good time in Europe. I always wanted to challenge myself in a new place and test myself. Al-Hilal is the biggest club in Asia.” He added, “I want to write a new history of sports.”
Neymar, however, injured his left knee just two months after joining the club, and underwent an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and meniscus repair in November. He played only five games in all competitions last season. After going through rehabilitation for about a year, Neymar made his comeback last month, but was out of the lineup after two games. 안전놀이터
