KIA’s two-out miracle in the ninth inning ‘Kim Sun-bin and Byun Woo-hyuk’s back-to-back home run show’… Winning 60 wins over Kiwoom

KIA Tigers, the leading professional baseball team, dramatically beat the Kiwoom Heroes with consecutive batter home runs by Kim Sun-bin and Byun Woo-hyuk, who came out with two outs in the top of the ninth inning, trailing 2-3.

KIA came from behind to win 4-3 in the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League visit match against Kiwoom at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 28th.

Kia, which escaped from three consecutive losses, was the first to reach the 60th win (38 losses and two draws).

Teams that have won 60 games in the past professional baseball have won the regular season with a 76.5% probability (26 out of 34) and a 61.8% probability (21 out of 34) to win the Korean Series (excluding the former, latter and two leagues).

Kiwoom ended its three-game winning streak by missing the victory it had secured and failed to escape to the bottom.

KIA gave up the first run in the first inning due to a defensive error.

Starting pitcher Yang Hyun-jong seemed to catch the first batter Lee Joo-hyung with a ground ball to the third base, but KIA third baseman Kim Do-young allowed him to get on base when he made a catch error.
Afterwards, Yang Hyun-jong was hit by Song Sung-moon’s timely double to the right and Choi Joo-hwan’s timely hit to the left, making it 0-2.

He lost an additional point in the fourth inning. Again, his defense error led to his loss.

Yang Hyun-jong was on the verge of being on third base with two outs when he gave up a double over Choi Joo-hwan to right field and a bases-loaded hit to Ko Young-woo. 먹튀검증

Later, KIA shortstop Park Chan-ho missed Kim Jae-hyun’s ground ball, and third baseman Choi Joo-hwan homered.

KIA’s batters were tied up by Kiwoom starter Enmanuel de Heysus and dragged scoreless until the seventh inning.

KIA gained strength from the eighth inning when Heyesus went down.

KIA succeeded in chasing Kiwoom’s changed pitcher Yang Yang-yul by 2-3 points with Lee Chang-jin’s walk and Choi Won-joon’s superior two-run home run.

The game was decided dramatically.

KIA put the game back to square one with Kim Sun-bin hitting a first-pitch two-seam fastball against Kiwoom Kim Sung-min in the top of the ninth inning with two outs.

It was not the end. The follow-up hitter Byun Woo-hyuk also hit Kim Sung-min’s first pitch, two-seam fastball, and blasted a come-from-behind home run to left-center field.

Byun Woo-hyuk played in four at-bats, including a winning home run in the ninth inning, with two hits, one RBI and one run.

Heyesus, who is No. 1 in multiple wins, pitched seven innings with five hits, one walk, and five strikeouts, but failed to build a win as the bullpen collapsed.
