Yeoncheon Miracle outfielder Park Sang-mok, who is playing in the independent league dreaming of becoming a future Doosan Jung Soo-bin, is standing out in the “2024 Independent Baseball Team Gyeonggi League” based on his fast feet and improved contact ability.
Park graduated from Shinil High School and Hongik University as a left-handed hitting outfielder measuring 170 centimeters tall and weighing 68 kilograms, and joined Yeoncheon Miracle this season with the goal of advancing into the professional baseball league, and has been sweating since the winter. He is mainly a table setter in the team’s batting lineup and has been in charge of the center line in the center field.
Park Sang-mok mainly played as the team’s table setter and recorded a on-base percentage (0.537) of more than 500, and he eased the shoulders of team pitchers from the beginning of the game with 20 stolen bases and 40 points in 25 league games with active baserunning.
In high school and college, Park Sang-mok had a good evaluation for being an outfielder with fast feet and a wide range of defense, but there were evaluations that he lacked batting ability. So, Park focused on training to increase power and bat speed based on weight training since the last winter training, and as a result, he recorded 40 hits in 93 at-bats in the Gyeonggi-do league this season with a batting average of 4.33 OPS of 1.172, proving that he is also the best hitter in batting ability.
Park Sang-mok said, “I gained confidence in my swing because I gained more strength than before, and I think taking the swing by focusing on timing and points is leading to good results,” adding, “It is a good phenomenon that not only doubles but also triples come out as left and right center hits and fast feet are added together.”
He also expressed his desperate desire, saying, “I’m training desperately with one wish to enter professional baseball, and I really want to play baseball on a big stage as a professional.”
In the 2024 Independent Baseball Team Gyeonggi-do League, in which eight teams participate, Yeoncheon is leading the league with 20 wins, one draw and four losses in 25 games as of Wednesday. Yeoncheon Miracle manager Kim In-sik picked outfielder Park Sang-mok as his best player. 고수익알바
“The importance of leadoff in modern baseball is so important that I don’t have to say it, but Park Sang-mok not only scored and stole, but also drew a lot of walks with his on-base percentage and good pioneering eye,” he said. He also gave generous points, saying, “Especially since the ability to perform operations for scoring is a very big advantage, he will be a necessary player in an important situation where scoring is needed even in a professional.”
Yeoncheon Miracle is leading the regular season of the “2024 Independent Baseball Team Gyeonggi-do League,” and two players, Lee Hyun-min (KT) and Park Si-on (KIA), have advanced to the professional stage this year. In addition, Hwang Young-mook (Hanwha), Son Ho-young (Lotte), and Park Young-bin (NC) are active in the first division as a former Yeoncheon Miracle.
