The boom of the next generation beauty star in the professional danggu (PBA) has been blocked. “Mother player” Kim Sang-ah will beat Jung Soo-bin (NH Nonghyup Card) to try again for the first time in her career.
In the semifinals of the “Hana Card PBA Championship” held at Kintex PBA Stadium in Gyeonggi Province on Sunday, Kim beat Jeong Su-bin, who started practicing billiards as a college student, with a set score of 3 to 1. She advanced to the final for the second time since her debut.
Kim Sang-ah, who debuted in the 2019-20 season when the PBA was launched, first advanced to the finals at the Huons Championship, the fifth tour last season. However, she had to settle for the runner-up after losing to “Danggu Empress” Kim Ga-young (Hana Card). However, she gained the chance to win again in about eight months this season.
Kim won the first set 11 to 8 in 10 innings on the day, while Jeong Su-bin scored six runs in two consecutive sets to win the game 11 to 1 (four innings). However, Kim Sang-ah took advantage of Jeong’s eight-inning ball in the third set to win the game 11 to 8 (13 innings), and secured the ticket to the finals by holding the fourth set 11 to 6 after 15 innings.
Kim Sang-ah, the mother of two sons, said, “I couldn’t play hard in the first final,” and vowed to “show all the skills I have even if I lose this time.” He then made up his mind, saying, “It’s important to run the game at my own pace.”
Kim’s opponent is Jung Soo-bin and Kim Da-hee (26), who made a splash in her 20s. In the semifinal match, Kim defeated Kim Min-young (Woori Financial Capital) by a score of 3 to 0 to advance to the final. 밤알바
It is her first advance to the finals in three seasons since her debut in the 2022-23 season. Kim broke her personal best record beyond the previous quarterfinals, especially beating powerhouses such as Lim Kyung-jin, the runner-up in the opening game, Ayako Sakai (Japan, Hana Card), and Kang Ji-eun (SK Rent-a-Car).
In the semifinal as well, Kim Da-hee scored an average of 1.269 runs in innings. “The key was to make good use of the bank shot opportunity (in the semifinal),” Kim said after the match. “The result doesn’t matter anymore. I learned a lot during my journey to the finals. I will do my best until the end.”
The women’s final round will be held from 10 p.m. on Friday for the best-of-seven prize money of 40 million won. Whoever wins the championship will be the first winner.
