Lindblom announced his retirement through his social network service (SNS) account on the 13th (Korean time).
Lindblom said, “A friend asked me, ‘What does it mean to finish well?’ before the start of last season. I’ve been waking up every morning for the past seven months and have asked myself this question.”
“Most people can’t choose when to end, and they don’t know when the end will be,” he said.
He continued, “Playing baseball for 30 years has taught me more than winning and losing. Baseball has taught me life,” and announced his retirement, saying, “And it made me a person who can say goodbye through letters.”
Lindblom concluded by thanking his fans, teammates, and support staff.
Lindblom, who made his MLB debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2011, went 5-8 with a 3.82 ERA in 110 games over four seasons until 2014.
After the 2014 season, Lindblom, who did not have a firm place in the big leagues, signed a contract with the Lotte Giants and stepped on the stage of the KBO League.
Lindblom, who played as Lotte Ace and recorded an average ERA of 4.35 with 23 wins and 24 losses in 62 games in two seasons from 2015 to 2016, returned to the United States after the 2016 season. He gave up his contract to treat his daughter’s heart disease.
Lindblom, who signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates ahead of the 2017 season, only started four games in the big leagues that year.

Lindblom, who moved to Doosan Bears after the 2017 season, showed his best performance.
Lindblom, who had a decent record of 15 wins and 4 losses with an ERA of 2.88 in 2018, appeared in 30 games in 2019 and digested 194⅔ innings, achieving an outstanding record of 20 wins and 3 losses with an ERA of 2.50.
He ranked first in wins, strikeouts (189), and winning percentage (0.870), winning three crowns as a pitcher, and also ranked second in the earned run average category.
Lindblom won the 2019 regular season MVP and the Golden Glove in the pitching category.
Building on his performance in Korea, Lindblom returned to the States after signing a three-year, $9.125 million contract with the Milwaukee Brewers.
However, Lindblom did not perform as well as expected.
In the aftermath of Corona 19, he had an average ERA of 5.16 with 2 wins and 4 losses in 12 games in 2020, which was shortened by 60 games per team.
Lindblom, who was removed from the 40-man roster in May 2021 and relegated to the minor leagues, continued to play as a starter in Triple A under Milwaukee in the 2022 season, recording a 9-7 record with an ERA of 4.05, but did not have a chance to rise to the big leagues.
Lindblom, whose contract with Milwaukee expired at the end of the 2022 season, chose to retire after failing to find a new team.
