I can see it little by little.
Veteran Samsung Lions infielder Park Byung-ho scored a three-run home run against Kiwoom starter Jongmin Lee at the top of the first inning with no outs and runners on the first and second bases in Game 13 of the season against the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League Kiwoom Heroes at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 28th. It reached 120 meters in distance. It was his 15th home run of the season. Park contributed to his team’s 9-5 victory by scoring two hits, one home run, three RBIs and one run from five times at bat.
In the early days of the season, Park did not perform well to match his reputation. As a member of KT, he only had 0.154 hits in eight games of batting average in March. He never had a home run. He elevated his batting average to 0.229 (eight hits in 35 at-bats) in April, but he only had one home run that he expected. 먹튀검증
They had no choice but to give him a chance to play. Kang Baek-ho and Moon Sang-cheol performed well. Park Byung-ho had a meeting with KT starting in April to agonize over his future, and KT and its manager Lee Kang-chul have decided to make way for the team through a trade instead of retiring or releasing waivers. With a batting average of 0.198 in 44 games, he left a poor performance of 20 hits, three homers, 10 RBIs and 10 runs, and wore the Samsung uniform through a trade with Oh Jae-il.
Park Byung-ho, who had high expectations by garnering a home run against the Kiwoom Heroes in Daegu on May 29, his debut match, only posted a batting average of 0.187 (14 hits from 75 times at bat) in June. He played in just seven games in July due to hamstring injury. He also had no home run.
In August, however, Samsung began to display Park Byung-ho that it has known. While Ruben Cardenas was away amid controversy over poor performance, Samsung coach Park Jin-man showed what he expected by creating synergistic effects with Koo Ja-wook and Kang Min-ho.
He has a batting average of 0.281 in August with six home runs, 20 RBIs and 10 runs. Among the 18 hits, eight were long balls (six homers and two doubles). He hit six home runs in August alone, but only LG Twins’ Austin Dean (nine) and SSG Landers’ Choi Jeong (eight) hit more home runs than Park Byung-ho in August. In the match against the Gwangju KIA Tigers on the 11th, he hit double-digit home runs for 12 consecutive seasons in the KBO League and multiple home runs in 739 days. He shows that “class is eternal.”
His performance in the season is also gradually improving. He has a batting average of 0.227 63 hits, 15 homers, 48 RBIs and 38 runs in 101 games. More than anything else, he has 395 homers in his career in the KBO league, and only five are left in the 400 homers he has targeted this season. He has entered the count. In the history of the KBO league, Doosan Bears coach Lee Seung-yeop (467 homers) and Choi Jeong (490 homers) are the only players who have exceeded 400 homers. In addition, he has only three more to achieve 1,500 hits in his career.
After writing the record of 400 home runs in Korea and the U.S. against the LG Twins in Daegu on June 13, Park Byung-ho said, “I thought that if I hit 20 home runs ahead of this season, I can achieve 400 home runs in the KBO. Before that, I’ve never thought about my personal record, but I think 400 home runs in the KBO is my last goal in my baseball life.”
Park was named the homerun king in 2012-2015, 2019, and 2022. He is one of the most promising home runs players who have hit 20 homeruns for nine consecutive years from 2012 to 2022 (2016-2017).
